lwv()

key
<static> String key(<String> str, <boolean> strOnly)
Converts embedded symbolic VT key name(s) to VT string.
Symbolic key names are delimited by < and >, such as "<ESC>"
.
These names may be embedded in a "standard" String, such as "<ESC>[A"
.
Each symbolic key name will be converted to the appropriate "VT escape sequence"
and returned as String; in our example the routine would return
such as "\x1b[A"
(which is identical to "<CUU>"
, "CursorUp".
Notes:
- symbolic names are case insensitive
- if no match was found, the (mis-spelled?) "key name" will be returned instead
- if the string contains a data char "<", it must be escaped: "<<>"
- Default is to send the result String to the host as well;
if strOnly is true: does not send the String
Parameters:
str
- the string with embedded symbolic VT key names
strOnly
- optional: if true, does not send the result String to the hos; else (default): sends the result String to the host
